I never thought I’d write about my shower drain, but let me say, it’s very unwell at the moment. Even though I have a silicone drain hose guard, it simply won’t stay put no matter how many times I kick it to its intended position. I don’t think it is that big problem until recently when the water stopped draining immediately thanks excess hair accumulation. So like any normal twenties who didn’t know how to fix anything, I turned to TikTok for a solution.

My top find: Aire Allure’s Disposable Shower Nets. I’ve seen my fair share of drain protectants as my long hair has been falling out quite a bit lately (another issue to mention another time). I’m ready to switch to these genius patches because having to remove a clump of hair with toilet paper after every shower couldn’t be more ideal.

As you can see in TikTok from @ marilyn.2685 (with over 2.3 million views), these $12 stickers are disposable so you don’t have to spend toilet paper scrambling your hairs. Just peel off the sticker and throw it along with your hair in the trash. And unlike regular drain protectors, this hack is designed to stick to surfaces, even when there’s a lot of rain falling down. The brand claims it can stay in place for several weeks, whether you have a metal, plastic or tile bathtub.

Get rid of silicone buttons that slip, slip and don’t really do anything to protect your drains. Aire Allure’s Disposable Shower Nets won’t budge or you have to spend loads of cash on unclogging chemicals or plumber visits.

With mesh stickers, you can put an end to shower drain blockages that take a big chunk out of your paycheck. This solution only takes a few seconds to stick on your drain and then discards once full. You also don’t have to stress about cleaning anything since they’re completely disposable. My silicone drain guards have gotten embarrassingly dirty, so I’ll be sure to add these handy stickers to my cart.

At this point, you might be wondering if they’re really worth buying, because after all, they’re just stickers. Amazon shoppers have some strong opinions, and the consensus is that yes, you should order a box as soon as you read this article.

“My husband kept kicking off the loose manhole cover that I had placed on the drain. He doesn’t like bathing in an inch of water. Of course, the drain keeps getting clogged,” explained one shopper. “I ordered this drain screen which is practically invisible and it works great. Outstanding adhesion and not difficult to remove. He never even realized it! And I no longer have problems with clogged drains.”

Be sure to replace the sticker every two to three weeks (or as needed), according to the label. Simple enough, right?

“These are best manhole cover which I tried in the shower,” wrote another five-star reviewer. “Easy to apply; you just stick them on. They have a strong adhesive that catches the hair and simply peels off to remove and handle.”

For a hygienic, convenient and cost effective solution that does not require any cleaning work on your part (bless), buy $12 Disposable shower headband.
