Bluetooth speakers and headphones paired with your iPhone tend to have common names. Determining which name belongs to a particular device can become difficult, especially when a long list of paired devices is displayed on your screen. However, there is a quick fix for this problem.

You can rename any Bluetooth device connected to your iPhone to help you better identify it. All you need is an active Bluetooth connection and a few minutes. See the steps you need to follow to rename the Bluetooth device on your iPhone.

Rename Bluetooth device from settings

To change the name of a Bluetooth device, you need to first make sure that your iPhone is connected to the device itself. You cannot rename a device if it is not connected to your mobile phone.

Once connected, follow these steps:

  1. Open Setting and go to Bluetooth.
  2. All devices have an information icon next to their name (with the letter I). Tap the icon of the connected device you want to rename.
  3. Selection Name.
  4. Enter the desired name and return to the previous page to finish the process.

With AirPods in the loop, Apple users often tend to use this feature to change the name of AirPods when multiple pairs are connected to their iPhone.
