Have you ever wanted something so much that it felt like fate was going to happen to you? As if it was always yours? Wanting something is the first step in manifesting, but just wanting isn’t always enough to make it happen. You also need to have faith, which is where the Law of Presumption comes in handy. If you want to take your expression to the next level, learning how to use the Law of Assumption is a must. After all, it basically says that whatever you believe to be true will eventually become a part of your reality.
This is not to be confused with the infamous Law of Attraction (closed, but no cigar). Over the past decade, the Law of Attraction has perpetuated the idea that our thoughts become our reality. In other words, if we think positive or negative thoughts, they will manifest into reality. However, the overall impact of this thinking can be counterproductive, especially if it makes your negative thoughts feel empowered to grow and materialize. The general definition of the Law of Attraction is “likes attract likes”, which can make you feel like every bad thought that crosses your mind will make bad things happen.
With the Law of Assumptions, you don’t have to obsess about how your thoughts are shaping your reality. Instead, you can enjoy the ride, because the Law of Assumption is rooted in the idea that what you want is already predetermined for you. And really — who has proof that it *isn’t*? By leading your life with this confident sense of understanding, you can deal with life’s setbacks by trusting that you’re on the right track and that, in the end, everything you want will be yours. — in fact, it already is (even if it hasn’t happened yet).
What is the Law of Presumption?
The Law of Assumption says that if you believe you already have something, you will have it. By applying the Law of Assumptions to your goals in life, you are essentially tricking your mind into believing that everything you want is already yours. Instead of talking about the things you want, you start to feel like you already have them. The Law of Assumption wants you to feel the emotions of achieving something as if you had already achieved it. By taking the time to feel and express the emotions of success, you are learning to identify the energy of success around you. And by making the Law of Assumption a standard, unconscious practice in your everyday life, you will be shocked at how much stronger your ability to manifest becomes.
The Law of Assumption wants you to feel the emotions of achieving something as if you had already achieved it.
Nerville Lancelot Goddard, one of the pioneers of the Law of Assumption, has always understood that nothing exists outside of your own consciousness. He firmly believes that the outside world is simply a projection of your inner reality. In his book The Power of Perception (2013), he states: “You must assume that the feeling of wish is fulfilled until your assumption has all the sensory vibrancy of reality. You must imagine that you are experiencing what you desire. That is, you have to assume the feeling of your desired satisfaction until you are possessed by it and this feeling forces all other ideas out of your consciousness.”
In other words, by fully expressing the emotion you would feel if you got your wish, you are putting yourself in the best possible position to achieve that desire. And while that may sound strange, vague, or complicated, it’s not as esoteric as one might think.
How to use the Law of Assumption
Using the Law of Assumption is very simple. There is no need for a full-fledged expression ritual, because it all starts with a change in your perspective. And the more you continue to expand your mind with the Law of Assumption, the more it permeates your entire way of being. The key is to make sure that your subconscious is on the same page as your mind (which may take a little more time, effort, and practice). Here’s how to get started using the Law of Assumption right here, right now:
- Write down your wishes. WOODet familiarize yourself with your diary and let your desires flow freely across the page. Start writing about what you want as if you already have it. You may want many things, but you can focus on only one thing at a time, especially if you are a beginner. Use all your five senses (what you see, touch, hear, smell, and taste) along with as many specifics as possible. The more specific you allow yourself to be in this step, the easier it will be for you to envision what it will feel like to achieve your desires..
- Imagine how you will feel when your wish is fulfilled. Take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. Once you feel comfortable enough, allow your desires to flow through you. You can do this step right before bed, lying down on a cozy surface or simply by closing your eyes wherever you might be sitting. Wherever you are, allow your imagination to come to life and be as real as possible, giving your mind, body, and heart a chance to feel the excitement of fulfilling your dreams. his want. Visualize how wonderful it feels to receive and achieve this desire. Let your body radiate with excitement, like you’ve just signed the papers for your dream home, received an offer for your ideal job, or met the love of your life. Imagine how lovely it feels to be in line with your desires and let them materialize right in front of you, in this very moment. The more you can feel these feelings intuitively, the more deeply your beliefs will permeate your entire being. Let go of any limitations, doubts or pessimism in this step and really allow your imagination to run wild.
- Assume that your wish is already written and predetermined. Once you’ve written down your wish and felt the sensations associated with your wish, it’s time to walk through the world as if your wish had been achieved. Continue your day knowing you’ve done your job simply by expressing your desires, feeling your emotions, and changing your assumptions about what’s possible for you. With the Law of Assumption, you can know in your heart that your desires have come to them and no other possible outcome. As the Law of Presumption says: the outer world is simply a projection of your inner state or consciousness. Meaning if you have followed the above steps, it means that your wishes are coming to them.
If you are struggling with manifestation and are beginning to doubt its power, chances are the Law of Presumption can take your spiritual and professional practice to the next level. However, surrendering to this belief is a process, so give yourself time to adjust to this new understanding. By going around the world with the assumption that things are currently going in your favor, you are essentially just “faking it until you make it” you are doing it in a way that works for you. Magic. However, do not forget that your wishes are very real, which means there is nothing “fake” about this. Remember – all that you desire, long for you.
