Humidity and rain chances increasing

Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – We’re approaching summer-like humidity across the Tampa Bay area. With a high near 90 degrees this afternoon, the heat index will be in the mid-90s.

The chance of rain is still isolated at just 20%, but some downpours will follow late afternoon and evening. Most of these will be east of I-75. Sea breezes should keep the shoreline dry again.

It’s going to feel similar tomorrow with top temperatures nearing 90 and a 20 percent chance of rain, but tropical humidity spreads northward on Friday and more storms develop.

There will be a 50% chance of a storm Friday afternoon and evening. The high will remain in the upper 80s.


It is expected to be off and stormy throughout the day on Saturday. The chance of rain is 70%, and extra showers help keep the highs in the mid-80s.

Looks like we’re moving into the rainy season this weekend. The chance of rain remains at 50% on Sunday and Monday, and most of that will be in the afternoon.
