NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A multiple vehicle collision that occurred on Interstate 40 on Monday morning is believed to have resulted in the arrest of a theft suspect.
Around 9:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of the Interstate near the 200 mile marker because of an accident involving several vehicles, according to Metro police. . When police checked the information of William Conners, 37, they allegedly discovered his driver’s license had been revoked and that he had four pending warrants.
Officials said last month Conners was hired to do electrical work at a Bellevue home on Windsor Terrace Drive and stole $19,000 worth of items, including money and jewelry. Conners is said to have introduced his work to the victim by a nearby resident. Police said the neighbor also had property stolen from their residence.
Conners now faces four counts of theft.
