I couldn’t afford a new kitchen so transformed it on the cheap – it was meant to be temporary but it’s lasted four years

A do-it-yourselfer has revealed how she gave her drab kitchen a makeover on a tight budget – and the results last for years, too.
For a while, TikTok user Sophie “hated” her old kitchen. However, since she couldn’t afford a new one, she decided to take matters into her own hands and got really smart.
But instead of making multiple purchases for the remodel, the DIY fanatic managed to do the remodel on a budget.
Instead of tearing everything down and replacing it with something new, Sophie simply “painted everything off,” including the tile, cabinets, and countertop.
For this she claimed the videoAll you needed was “a good primer and a durable paint.”
In the first remodel, which was only intended as a temporary solution, Sophie painted the kitchen white – and it took over a year.
“But the good thing about painting was that if I got bored, I could switch it up again,” she added.
Her recent accomplishments have included repainting the countertop and cabinets new colors, replacing the old handles and replacing the tiled backsplash.
To complete the latest transformation, the DIY fan also grabbed a black faucet that looked chic and added LED strip lighting underneath the cabinets.
She urged others to do the same, saying, “So if you hate your kitchen, why not give it a little makeover?”
“Maybe you’ll just love it in the end.”
Sophie continued in the caption, “When I did that I figured it would be temporary for a year or two.”

“Four years later, it’s still going well.” “Do I regret doing it? … No way.”
Needless to say, the stunning shine lasted her social media page by storm as dozens rushed to comments to praise Sophie.
“Wow, you did an amazing job!” one exclaimed.
Another agreed, adding, “Looks great!”
A third chimed in: “What a difference!”
“Both makeovers look great but I really love the first one with the white and gray.”

One critical reviewer remarked, “I see a few scratches on the countertop, but that puts me off. Looks really nice though.”
“It looks so great. Great work,” wrote one TikTok user.
