However, it only had 44 percent battery left to travel 146 miles.

An electric vehicle driver was stunned to learn that his vehicle had lost charge while parked in a long-term parking lot.

He said: “The interesting thing is, when I left the car here I had more than 44 percent. I think I had about 48 percent.”

“In the two to three weeks that I was actually gone, it lost its charge. I guess it’s because of all the safety devices.”

Later, Lee had to stop to charge his car on the way home.

He said: “This is not what you want when you get off a plane. I just want to go home.”

“If I had a diesel or a petrol engine, I would be on the motorway and on the way home.

“This is just absolutely pathetic. The idea of electric cars is pathetic. The infrastructure is not there. It is ridiculous.”

Lee is one of many electric vehicle owners who experience a number of frustrations with their electric vehicles.

Matt Watson from Carwow Road tested a new electric vehicle and slammed it after it broke down four times while driving.

The car expert took care of the matter Youtube to explain why the latest Jeep Avenger just wasn’t for him.

In the video, he listed the five things that bothered him the most about the engine as it was riddled with problems.

Initially, he claimed that the indicators produced a “beatboxing” sound, which he described as “really shitty.”

He also joked that it sounded like a “garbage” synthesizer from the 1980s before overdubbing it with a rendition of Yankee Doodle.
