A HOME decor fan created a fall pumpkin wreath from Dollar Tree’s craft department.
She made hers for one fraction It cost less than a similar model from Pottery Barn and, in her opinion, looked better too.
Jay Munee DIY (@jaymuneediy) was pleased with the finished look and the savings it generated.
She is the queen of “DIY home decor, Money tree “DIYs” and an all-round “mom and crafter”.
“Please don’t spend $89 on this,” she pleaded. “Let’s make it a lot cheaper and better looking instead.”
She was happy to announce her design as “another Pottery Barn Dollar Tree imposter.”
It was super easy too, but first it was a trip to Dollar Tree to put together the essential elements of her design.
She picked up a large ring from the floral department, then picked out which pumpkins she wanted, along with some clothespins and some glue.
The pins were glued to the pumpkins, which were then pinned to the flower ring so she could reuse the pumpkins for future fall decorations.
Jay’s shopping spree didn’t break the bank: “It ended up costing $23,” she said.
As a final touch, she painted the pumpkins to “add some dimension to the whole thing.”
Her sense of success was undeniable: “Here’s my version. I absolutely love it.”
Her fall decorating idea was well received, drawing over 200,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
“Your version looks much better than an $89 version,” this person said.
Another said: “This is adorable.”
“You are so creative. I love this,” was this fan’s opinion.
But one person wondered how long it would take them to get there.
“I calculate how long it would take me and how much time it’s worth, plus the lasting trauma of hot glue injuries, $89 is a bargain.”
