“That way, snails and earwigs can’t really climb up,” he said.

The content creator also shared the two ingredients he uses in his DIY insect traps.

Showing viewers the bottom of a plastic bottle, he said: “You can also use something like this and just fill it with some canola oil and soy sauce and make little traps. Just make sure they are level with the ground.”

As a next tip, Grant revealed the tactic that he’s “had the most success with.”

The gardening expert recommended, “Spray diatomaceous earth at the base of the plant.”

He also suggested, “Mix a few tablespoons of neem oil with water and mist the leaves at night.”

Finally, Grant shared the homemade solution he sprays on his plants as a preventive measure.

“You can also try a little homemade garlic spray. Just add some dish soap to make it stick to the leaves,” he said.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hacks.

“Diatomaceous Earth blew her mind for me! We were infested,” wrote one viewer.

Another follower said: “It makes me feel better knowing I’m not the only one dealing with this. Thank’s for the Tipps!”

“You’ve been absolutely awful this year, it hasn’t been that bad in ages. I’ve been at war with them for weeks,” commented a third person.
