Lindsey (@literallylindseym) filmed herself sharing the parenting tip in one Video on TikTok.

“I have the best parenting trick, believe me.

“Whenever your teen is moody or has an attitude or is doing typical teen things and you’re just tired of it, turn on Screen Time instead of picking up their phone.”

“Make it to where they can have their phone all day but not be able to do anything with it. I can’t check TikTok, can’t do anything fun.”

My kids love my parenting trick on the first day of school, but they don't know my true motive

“It’s basically like a landline at this point, and that’s more torture than actual house arrest.”

“Stay on the phone and if you can’t do it, you can thank me later,” she said.

The video attracted many viewers who shared their thoughts on the matter in the comments section.

“Even better is hiding your phone chargers and watching with joy as your battery life suddenly drops to zero,” one wrote.

“See, they’re forced to stare at their work phone if you just turn on Screen Time,” Lindsey replied.

“I’m going to try this with my teenager,” another added.

“Do it,” Lindsey replied

“Lol, welcome to the now. I’ve been using screen time for years, but I can’t believe how many parents don’t even know about this feature,” commented a third.

“I’ve used screen time for about two years, but never like this,” Lindsey replied.

“Ha. My daughter always found a gap in it. I also checked the settings and changed the password,” wrote another.

“They should charge a fee for giving this advice,” said another.

“Ugh, I should have,” Lindsey wrote back.
