A TIKTOKER shared how disappointed she was with a privacy fence she bought to hide from her neighbors.
Petalcake posted a short clip on TikTok showing her installing the faux bamboo fence.
But at the end of the clip, the TikToker revealed that she and her neighbors could easily slip through the slats.
“It’s see-through,” Petalcake wrote of the video.
“Oh!!!” she said in the description.
In the aftermath VideoPetalcake revealed what she was trying to hide from the neighbors.
The TikToker is seen running outside to flip some meat on the grill.
Since she is in the process of dying her hair, Petalcake had a plastic bag on her head.
It looks like she just wanted to hang out in her backyard without having to look presentable to the neighbors.
In the comments section, many gave the TikToker helpful tips on privacy fences.
“It’s good for wallpaper, not privacy,” one person said.
“Absolutely,” Petalcake replied.
“I was quite disappointed, but somehow I will find a solution.”
Several commenters recommended that she get real bamboo.
“We have it and it’s amazing,” said one.
“I’d love that,” Petalcake replied.
However, another TikTok user noted that homeowners need to keep a close eye on every bamboo they plant.
“Everyone says to get real bamboo, but be careful if you do,” they said.
“It could easily spread, but they are very pretty and worth the time.”
Petalcake isn’t the only social media user sharing their privacy fences online.
TikTok user Emilia (@emiliasforestgarden) posted a video of her making one of the barriers out of recycled wood.
Another TikToker named Sarah (@onecoastliving) shared how she and her husband built a $28 privacy fence out of simple materials.
A contractor had said it would cost the couple $16,000 to have someone else build the barrier.
