IN desperation to get rid of her dead ends, one woman decided to give herself the viral butterfly cut — and we’re loving the results.
If you haven’t been living under a rock, you will have seen that the so-called butterfly cut has become all the rage lately, with thousands of people rocking this hairstyle.
One of those who wanted to see what she looks like with this layered look was Bella Jannette from the USA – for her this was the perfect opportunity to bring the curls back to health.
Demonstrating the condition of her hair, the brunette said: “See how desperately my ends are fried? I need a haircut so badly.
“I’m going to get a butterfly cut,” Bella captioned her 43,000 followers.
After washing and brushing her long tresses, the young woman parted the thick hair into two sections — a larger ponytail at the back and a smaller one that held all the front hair together.
“This lasts about 10 minutes and I feel like I’m doing cardio,” giggled Bella in the video.
“It’s intense because I have so much hair.”
When she was happy with the placement, she grabbed a pair of scissors and made the big cut, first severing a large chunk of the top section and then the rest.
“Why is there so much hair in the sink but I feel like my hair still looks super long?” The beauty fan was stunned.
“I don’t understand the magic of this haircut,” Bella said while showing the end result after blow-drying the curls.
“I don’t understand… My brain can’t figure out how this works.

“It’s still super long, but now I have these layers.
“I think next time I’ll go even shorter. But I’m very happy with it,” Bella told her viewers.
It wasn’t just Bella who couldn’t get over how easy the trick was and how good the hair looked now – social media users were just as smitten.
One was so amazed by the end results that they couldn’t wait to try it for themselves: “Damn… *grabs scissors and hair ties*.”
Someone else warned others it’s best not to: “Don’t do this if you have thin hair. I have a mullet now.”
“I just did this a few weeks ago and vowed to myself never to spend money on a haircut. I’ll just do this forever,” claimed one beauty fan.
“Someone tells me to stop it. I’ll grab the scissors right now,” a fourth was enthusiastic about the idea.
