I only ate raw meat for 100 days straight – everyone thinks I’m crazy but it’s transformed my life

A dad who ate raw steak for 100 days has revealed how the diet changed his life.

Pauly Long, 30, who lives in Bali, Indonesia, started the challenge after switching to a diet that was 90 percent raw meat.

He had previously followed a regular diet of cooked vegetables and meat, but decided to switch after suffering from stomach problems five years ago.

He claims the change – which included eating testicles, earning him the nickname “Testicle King” – improved his digestion, energy levels and overall mood.

Pauly said, “I wanted to experiment and see how I felt and show the public that eating raw meat is perfectly safe.”

“I ate one raw steak a day and then something else I wanted to eat, which could have been another steak that I cooked or ate raw again.

“I had no qualms about the challenge because I know how beneficial quality raw meat can be for the body.”

He added, “The main benefits I noticed were digestion and energy.”

“Raw meat is good for digestion because it is in its purest form, with no heat damaging the enzymes or nutrients.

“I noticed the biggest change around day 30. After that, it was clearly noticeable every day – good energy, great digestion, all-round great feeling after raw food.”

The NHS recommends a varied and mixed diet, including trying to eat two or more vegetables a day, whole grain carbohydrates and mixed protein sources such as beans and fish.

Brits should aim to eat at least five servings of fruit and veg a day to ensure they’re getting enough fiber and essential vitamins, the health department has said.

However, some proponents of an all-meat diet claim that you can get all the nutrients you need just by eating animal products.

It is said that cooking destroys the nutrients in food and therefore meat should be eaten raw.

dr Don Schaffner of Rutgers University said everyday health: “Heating destroys nutrients, and it doesn’t matter whether those nutrients are in vegetables, meat, or other foods.”

However, he said many of the micronutrients involved are non-essential and some are actually increased by the cooking process.

A study published in the Elsevier Journal meat science showed that some vitamins and minerals in pork, veal and beef decreased after cooking – but iron and zinc increased after heat addition.

Experts also warn that eating undercooked meat or dairy products can increase your risk of food poisoning.

dr Beth Czerwony of the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Nutrition said, “Not only is there a risk of infection with Campylobacter and Salmonella, but also with parasites like roundworms and tapeworms.”

Pauly insisted he’s never had any problems with illness after eating the raw meat.

However, that hasn’t stopped viewers of his TikTok channel from calling him “crazy” and warning he’s going to catch a virus.

He said, “People say ‘he’s going to get sick’ or ‘he won’t live long’ and parasitize this, parasitize that.”

“I’ve gotten so used to it that I don’t even pay attention to it anymore.

“Of course everyone thinks I’m crazy and during the challenge everyone kept saying I was going to get sick and die, but for me it’s just entertainment.”

“[I had] No complications from the raw meat – just certain cooked foods and spicy things that confused me.”

At the steak challenge, he said, “I ate a very cheap steak every day. My main goal was just to show everyone that I’ll be completely healthy afterwards.”

“We can eat raw meat, and in fact I think people thrive on a raw diet.

“I combine a mix of raw and cooked because I’m a big foodie and love to enjoy good food out, but overall I feel best when I eat raw.”

“I had no concerns knowing how beneficial quality raw meat can be for the body.”
