A WOMAN has gone viral on TikTok after debuting her incredible weight loss in just five weeks – but not everyone is happy with the risky procedure.

Lauren Evens, 29, from Chester, has struggled with her weight since childhood and claims she developed an unhealthy relationship with food after her father died in 1999.

Growing up, she recalls being called names like “fat dancer” in drama school and told, “You’d be so much prettier if you lost weight,” where she later claims she later went to a “fat camp.” “ to have been inscribed in life.

After suffering with her mental health and being in a toxic relationship, she finally made the decision to reconsider her lifestyle and shed the pounds.

At her heaviest she weighed 22st 10lbs.

But after trying different diets, she struggled to lose weight and opted for gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey, which involves removing a large part of the stomach – at a cost of £2,000.

In recent years, so-called Turkey Teeth have hit an all-time high, with hundreds of Britons jetting abroad to get their smiles cheap.

And now, alongside dozens of other plastic and cosmetic procedures, we’ve seen an increase in beauty fans sharing their experiences with turkey tuck.

On TikTok alone there are hundreds and hundreds of videos of men and women talking about their journey using the hashtag #turkeytuck.

Here Lauren, just one of many, shares her story…

“My weight could have killed me for years to come,” she told NeedToKnow.Online.

“My sanity was [quite low] and obesity isn’t physically healthy, so it would have caused many other health problems down the line.

“I knew there were risks, but there are risks with any surgery and it was a risk I was willing to take.

“I did a lot of research and a lovely lady named Irem took care of me.

“The hospitals are like five-star hotels and you are seen very quickly.

“All the pre-op tests have been really good and now I feel a lot happier and more confident in myself and my body.

“Before I was mentally depressed and after my father died in a plane crash when I was six years old, I developed an unhealthy relationship with food and used it as a comfort.

“Nothing worked no matter what diet I tried.

“Then when I turned 29, I decided I didn’t want to be 30 and fat, so I took the plunge and booked it.”

After surgery in July 2022 and five weeks of recovery, she claims to have lost over 11th weight and now weighs 11th – halving her body weight.

To show off her transformation, she decided to upload a video to TikTok documenting the process, garnering 3.8 million views and over 156,000 likes.

She begins showing herself before she wears underwear and before taking viewers on the journey.

Lauren then cropped a video of her just weeks after surgery while wearing a tank top and tight leggings.

Users flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many praising the mother of Reese, eight, and Lottie, seven, for their transparency.

“Wow, nice for you!” commented a viewer.

Another person said, “Proud of you girl,” followed by three love heart emojis. [sic]

“You look amazing and you look so happy,” commented user Nikki O’Hagan.

Someone else added: “Omg so happy for you that you are beaming you look amazing.” [sic]

Others warned of the dangers, with user Colette Beesley saying, “I see all the amazing results and then at some point after the surgery I see the horror stories too.”

“Sleeves. You can never undo it if it gets bad…” added another.

Now she plans to return to Turkey next year to have loose skin removed – but claims the procedure is ‘life-changing’.

She added: “The surgery has changed my life and my confidence and I have grown so much as a person.

“The only thing I regret is that I wish I had done it years ago.

“I wear makeup because so many people compliment me.

“My friends and family have been really supportive and they’re just happy that I’m happy.

“I realized that I had to love myself before anyone else could love me, and I’ve been working on my self-love for the past six months.

“I’m very happy now and maybe I’ll have someone who will make me smile even more and really appreciate my body.
