I reduced my electricity bill by $350 after making shock discovery on account – simple hack saved us hundreds

One MUM has revealed how she managed to easily cut $350 on her family’s monthly electricity bill.
Kirstie, from Queensland, was shocked when her electricity bill skyrocketed by hundreds in just one month.
Her family has consistently received bills ranging from $250-$300 (£131-£157) over the past eight years in four different homes.
So she was determined to find out why her bill had suddenly shot up to $550 (£288).
After exercising with her partner, the mother discovered her daughter’s long shower was causing the hot water system to work overtime.
The solution is very simple. All Kirstie had to do was set a 10-minute time limit for all showers.
And just like that, her electricity bill fell to $198 (£103) the next time around.
Sharing her experience on a Facebook group, she urged others to cut down on shower time to combat the rising cost of living.
“I almost died when our last bill was just over $550. I called and it wasn’t an estimate,” the mother revealed.
“My partner mentioned that my daughter took longer showers – but honestly I didn’t notice, what is a few more minutes?”
“We just got the bill and it’s over $300!”
Another savvy woman slashed her energy bill with a regular item that costs just £30.
Lydia Sear, 23, has gone viral with a hack she says is a cheap way to keep your home warm this winter, especially amid the cost of living crisis.
The London woman has revealed how she stuffed a styrofoam product she bought on Amazon into cracks in her floorboards to prevent drafts from entering her home.
Flooring is known to be one of the four energy-hungry hotspots in a home, and keeping cold air out can save you up to £180.
Lydia knew her floorboards were contributing to her growing electricity bill, so she looked for a solution – then shared it on TikTok.
