“I remember we were playing Phoenix they were talking so much sh*t”

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards clapped back to the Phoenix Suns after their dismal 120-93 Game-7 loss in the convention semi-final against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

Edwards posted an Instagram story where he yelled about the Suns talking about his team earlier this season. He also said that the shame of the Suns performance went against the Mavs.

Here’s what ‘Antman’ had to say (via The Score on Instagram):

“I remember we played Phoenix, and they talked a lot, told us we should make it to the knockouts, we’re not going to the knockouts, we’re going to make it to the knockouts , but man! This is a shame, you all got 36 points in the 3rd quarter, terrible!”

The Phoenix Suns dropped 46 points in the game. They could only score 27 points after the break and nothing went well after the break either.

Dallas Mavericks take down Phoenix Suns as Devin Booker and Chris Paul produce impressive performances

The Phoenix Suns are the favorites to win this year. They finished the regular season with a franchise record of 64 wins, the most in the league.

Phoenix started the streak against Dallas, making it 2-0, but couldn’t hold on to the lead. They took a 3-2 lead after winning Game 5 at home and were the higher-rated team going into Game 7, when this streak was dominated by home teams.

However, the Suns are said to have produced the worst performance in a Game-7 home game for a team that ended the regular season with the best record in the league. Their superstar duo Devin Booker and Chris Paul failed to do so. They scored a total of 3 points before halftime, scoring 0 out of 11.

Chris Paul: 10 points, 1/3 3pm, -39 +/- Devin Booker: 11 points, 21% FG, -41 +/- Round 7… Unbelievable.

Devin Booker finished with 11 points, shooting three of 14, while Chris Paul had 10 with four of eight shots. The Mavericks’ defense has been outstanding, limiting the impact of their return to the All-Star in the past few games, which has turned the series in their favor.

To exacerbate the problem, the Suns had no answer for Luka Doncic at the end of the attack. He averaged 32.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, 7 assists and 2.1 steals per game in this streak, for a 48% scoring rate.

The Slovenian received great support from his teammates, most notably the presence of Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock in the last two matches.
