I thought I’d won £200 on bet but I ended up getting into huge trouble with my wife

A FOOTIE fan who won £200 on a stadium bet accidentally logged into an adult site while trying to collect his winnings online.

Trevor Jones, 51, believes he was redirected to the FlirtyMeetings.com over-18s dating site via a “shady” QR code – and there he faced a difficult conversation with his wife Julia, 49.

Stoke City supporter Trevor amassed £40 in the club’s opening Premier League game against Rotherham and was thrilled when they won 4-1.

But he said: “You ran out of money. I was told to scan the code, which I did the next day.

“I had to enter my bank details to get my money. When I did that, it said, “Congratulations, you’ve joined flirtymeeting.com.”

So far he’s been charged £2.50 but his bank told him they’ve blocked a further £46.

Trevor, from Whitchurch, Shrops, added: “I had to tell Julia. She rolled her eyes and said this could only happen to me.

“She couldn’t see the bank statements, but I had to say something first.”

The cheeky site promises paying subscribers that they’ll “meet singles and possibly even tonight!”

The club said on-site betting would be provided by a third party.
