“It’s that time of year again that I travel to Turkey to get my hair done instead of just going down the street to a hair salon like any sane person would,” says full-time traveler Bryn Elise
(@bryn.elise) started in her TikTok Video.

“And that shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s watched me get my dental work done in Thailand or my tattoos done in Colombia.

“But I’m obsessed with beauty tourism. You’re in for a pretty amazing transformation.”

She was shown getting into a cab to transform her tresses.

“In the space of a few hours I change form from a passable appearance to a slimy little rat to a totally unrecognizable superstar/hair model, so buckle up,” Bryn said.

“I know what you’re thinking, this girl is crazy. But let me explain why it is 100% worth it.”

She told viewers that it all started last year, when she received an email from her US salon telling her that the prices for the hair extensions she got regularly would be raised to $4,450 .

The price was pretty high for the social media influencer, so she started looking for alternative options.

“So I decided to do a little poking around and found that a lot of the hair inspo photos I had saved on Instagram were from this absolutely top notch stylist who lived in Turkey.

“So, out of curiosity, I slipped into his DMs to get a quote. And tell me why this man said he would do my dream haircut for $500.”

Bryn got 300 pieces of 22-inch keratin bond extensions with “bleaching, styling and all” for $500.

“As for flights, if you are flexible about your travel dates, you can get tickets from the US to Istanbul for US$700.

“And if you’re even more the boss, you can use points and miles and then the flights are free.”

“And AirBNB usually costs $200-$300 in Turkey for a week. The food is maybe $150 a week and the restaurants are nice.”

In the video, she showed her freshly styled hair in love.

“$500 for this absolute marvel. This hair wonder.”

She added that she “absolutely fell in love with Turkey and it’s one of her all time favorite places on earth”.

Viewers of the TikTok video commented on this

“If you’re spending $4,500 on your hair, this is definitely the way to go,” said one person.

“Y’all hate it, but she still saved nearly $3,000,” chimed in a second.

“So for $2,000 I can get a dream vacation and gorgeous hair extensions/dyes,” said another person.
