I turned an old shed into a tiny home for when my kids grow up – now they won’t have to pay $1,500 in rent

A CRAFTY woman showed off her ingenious skills when she turned an old warehouse into a small house.
She claims the renovation will help her children save on future rent.
Katy Krebs (@katyelizkrebs) filmed her shed in its original condition for a videotapes on TikTok.
The text reads: “Turn an old barn into a livable cottage, so my kids don’t have to pay $1,500 plus rent to grow up.”
She switched to the clip of the small house, clearly brighter than before.
The outside of the small house has fairy lights around giving the space a high-class look.
She filmed the interior of the house, including the bedroom, living area, bathroom and even the kitchen.
“Everything we do is for them,” she added in the caption.
The video attracted many viewers expressing their curiosity about the lifestyle in the tiny house.
“So where are the kids?” one asked and Katy replied: “Come home with us.”
“I love this,” another added. “That’s exactly what we want to do for our children.”
“Awww, it’s amazing that you both do it for them. As a mother, this makes my heart smile,” a third commented.
“Did you run the electricity and water from your main line, or set a separate ‘address’ for the warehouse to bill separately? I love the idea,” said another.
Katy wrote back: “We use electricity poles on the property and tie it to the water source on the property. Just using the same address as our permanent home.”
“How much did it cost you to do this?” another asked.
Katy replied, “$16,000 from start to finish. We reused a lot of materials around the property and saved a lot.”
