They poked fun at the name’s eccentric nickname.

Lyndsey (@lyndseychachki), a mom, shared the unique name she stumbled upon in a social media post.

“I have a daughter named Chaplin,” said the parent.

“Her nickname is Chap, like a pair of chaps, like western riding,” they explained.

“I’m looking for other suitable names that fit our REAL western feeling.”

The parents suggested gender-neutral names, including Roper, Rainer, Bitlee, and Spurly.

Lyndsey said the name reminded her of something else: “Why did my mind go to Gyddeighyup, Howdeigh, Pardner?” She laughed.

“I’m naming my next child Gyddeighyup,” she joked.

People used the comments to share their thoughts on the name.

“You can’t just use ay as a substitute for other vowels!!!” said one commenter.

“I used to be a teacher and there was a kid at my school called Partner and I was horrified,” said another.

“Why do I kinda like Howdie?” joked a third.

“I’m crying at all these weird names, then there’s just normal James walking around,” said a fourth.
