I was fed up with getting fruit flies in my house – my genius kitchen roll trick got rid of them instantly

WHETHER they’re buzzing around your head or loitering over your fruit bowl, there really are few things more annoying than pesky fruit flies.
But a cleaning talent has revealed this problem could soon be a thing of the past – and it’s all thanks to her genius paper towel trick.
According to Carina Besteiros, you can kill the little guests with a simple trick that just requires you to find two items in your kitchen.
In a clip shared on TikTok (@carinabesteiros), she reveals that all you need to get rid of them for good is a banana and a piece of kitchen roll.
Carina begins by placing the old fruit in the bottom of a bottle before using a piece of kitchen towel to form a funnel with a very small hole in the bottom.
Then she puts it in the bottle, making sure the flies have nowhere to escape.
She demonstrates how effective the trick is by discovering dozens of tiny fruit flies trapped in the bottle.
The post has since gone viral, garnering a whopping 455,000 views as well as several comments from very impressed social media users.
“Clever trick,” praised one.
A second gushed: “That’s clever!”

And it’s not the first time that cleaning experts have shown off their handy tricks online.
Fabulous previously shared how a cleaning guru, known only as @Allhiverevealed a 7p trick to get rid of pesky fruit flies – and pointed out all you need is washing up liquid and apple cider vinegar.
She recommended simply adding a small squirt of dish soap to a small bowl or container, some water, and then vinegar.
“I tested it with white vinegar and it didn’t work that well.” “I’m thinking balsamic with work or by adding sugar to the vinegar,” she added in the comments.
