I was fed up with my neighbours parking on my driveway so I got my revenge – I know it’s petty but I don’t care

A WOMAN has shared how she got fed up with neighbors parking on her property – and successfully plotted her “little” revenge.

The Reddit user, who doesn’t drive, had allowed her neighbor to use her parking lot for her vehicles.

But it wasn’t long before that generosity was allegedly taken advantage of after her neighbor refused to move one of her vehicles for her brother, who was returning home from the hospital.

She wrote: “I currently live with my 15 year old brother who has very weak joints and is hospitalized on average about every month.

“A few months ago he tore his knee and had to use crutches.

“After leaving the hospital, we were pulling into our street in a taxi when one of my neighbors pulled into my driveway and stopped our taxi from pulling up to the door.

“We waited for them to realize my brother had crutches and was moving, but she looked at us and continued inside along with her sisters and stepfather.

“I had to hobble my brother across wet, muddy grass to get to our door.”

The enraged woman withdrew her offer, but not before residents continued to use the vacant space to transport their baby carriers.

“My own brother couldn’t use his drive when he couldn’t even walk because of her meanness,” she continued.

“In the last three months, three of the residents’ children have had babies and have started parking in my driveway again.

“I know why. Because otherwise they would have to walk two blocks with baby carriers.”

“One of these girls confronted me and told me that I didn’t even need the drive and that it was heartless to do that to a new mom. Her sister supported her.

She admitted their actions were “petty” but justified their decision after allowing them to use her property in the first place.

She said: “I was being neighborly until I was stopped. I know my reasoning is petty and vengeful, but I feel justified as I have shown them a courtesy for years by only letting them use my drive to be so cruel to my brother.”

Many other Reddit users jumped to the woman’s side and applauded her generosity.

One said, “It’s your property.”

“You were nice until they showed heartless behavior.”

Another agreed: “If they need space for their cars, they need to find a place to buy or rent that has that space.”

“It is not your duty to share your driveway with others.

“Hopefully the sign on the gates will deter others from illegally parking there.”
