He was part of the Gogglebox furniture for five years – but Chris Ashby-Steed is now desperately trying to move on from his TV past.
The 45-year-old hairdresser, who appeared on the Channel 4 reality show alongside his ex-boyfriend Stephen Webb, has now left Brighton to start a new life Wales with husband Tony Ashby-Steed, 52.

The couple have bought a stunning family home in the town of Newcastle Emlyn and have big plans rent four guest rooms on AirBnB.
Her income is supplemented by Chris’s Barber and furniture restoration as well as Tony’s day job at Legal and General.
Chris spoke of his desire to put distance between himself and Brighton, Chris said WalesOnline: “I also had memories of Gogglebox there and I wanted to get rid of them.”

Tony’s beloved mother died in 2021, two years after she was diagnosed with a double cerebral hemorrhage. She was admitted in her final months hospital He suffered from a chest infection and subsequently contracted Covid before receiving palliative care.
While looking for a rural place to put down roots, the pair stumbled upon their new location by chance, which they liken to the most beautiful parts of Devon and Cornwall.
Tony said: “We didn’t know any areas and had the idea that by looking at houses we might discover an area we like, or we might find a house that we completely fell in love with and then go and look at it must.” the area that it is.”
Meanwhile, Chris’ ex Stephen and his husband Daniel Lustig, who ultimately replaced Chris on the show, recently announced that they were leaving the show to pursue new opportunities.
