I won my dream £148k BMW and £50,000 in cash from a £4 raffle ticket… here’s the generous way I splashed the cash

A TAXI driver has told how he won his dream car and £50,000 cash from a £4 lottery ticket.

Aamer Mahmood, from Yorkshire, won huge sums of money as well as a £148,000 BMW after entering an online contest.

He went to the Stratstone dealership in Derby to pick up the last customer of the day, only to find his brand new car and cash prize waiting for him.

The 41-year-old, from Wakefield, was greeted by BOTB host Christian Williams, who went the extra mile to surprise him after surreptitiously pre-booking a taxi for him.

Aamer said: “I was so shocked that I struggled to choose my words.

“The other day my wife asked me if I believe in miracles and I said yes and this proves they do happen. This is life changing.

He also told how he generously splashed his money on the night he won.

Aamer explains: “I have been a bit angry since I found out. The night I won, more than 50 people came to my house and I had to order enough food for everyone.”

BMWXM featured a hybrid V8, 644bhp and a top speed of 168mph.

He said: “This car is great – it’s on Next level.

“One of the builders working on my house bought the normal electric version and because I love it I made a video. But I wanted someone better than him and I couldn’t believe I actually did it.

“£50,000 is also a lot of money. You can go around the world and have a great time.”

It comes after a councilor said exactly how he would spend his cash after winning £286,000 on the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Anthony McMullen, 33, won the huge jackpot at Tyne and Wear earlier this week – but says he won’t splurge on luxuries.

He said he will remain a Weetslade board member and will not give up his day job as a software engineer.
