Just days after Iggy Azalea tried to downplay her letter of support to the judge handling Tory Lanez’s case, the letter was leaked to the public … and it was worse than some first thought.
“Daystar Peterson isn’t the pest you heard about, he’s a gardener. He helps others flourish. Any leniency you give him you could be proud of,” Iggy wrote after telling the judge that as a victim of abuse she would not support an abuser.
“I deeply appreciate the person he is and have never seen him lose his temper or raise his voice to a woman. He’s always been incredibly respectful of me and I refuse to believe he would do anything bad, especially to a woman,” she added.
After the letter was leaked, Iggy told her followers on social media that she didn’t think the letter would be seen by the public.
“I haven’t been in touch with Tory for months, I have no reason to but I wish him well. I don’t “support” anyone. The whole thing is full of curiosities. My letter never mentioned anything about what happened that night,” she tweeted.
Iggy said she thought only the judge would see the letter.
“But it is publicly discussed? I never intended to speak out publicly,” she wrote. “I’m not in favor of throwing ANYONE’S life away when instead we can impose appropriate punishments that are rehabilitating. I support prison reform. Period.”
Twitter made her shine.
