Ilia Topuria and Josh Emmett will face off in this weekend’s UFC Fight Night Main Event in what should be an entertaining clash of featherweight contenders.
Emmett, 38, goes into the fight with a disheartening loss after being submitted by Yair Rodriguez in February with the interim title at stake. However, the American was on an encouraging winning streak prior to that defeat and will feel he can move back into title contention if he pulls off an impressive win on Saturday.
That would be easier said than done, however, as Topuria is not only undefeated as a pro, but has also won 12 of his 13 fights by stoppage. In his last appearance, the 26-year-old Georgian stunned Bryce Mitchell by subduing the submission specialist in December.
An undisputed champion will be crowned in July when Rodriguez challenges official champion Alexander Volkanovski, and the winner of Saturday’s Main Event could even emerge as the next contender for gold.
Here you will find everything you need to know.
