A 25-year-old woman says her job is to make life easier for her husband – which means she spends up to five hours a day in the kitchen

Estee Williams calls herself “Tradwife” – short for traditional wife or traditional housewife – and sees it as her job to meet all of her husband’s needs.

Estee, from Virginia, is a strong believer in traditional gender roles.

She says that the husband should be the one who goes to work to be the provider and protector while the wife is the homemaker and doesn’t need to expand the family financially.

Despite the couple not having children, Estee says she doesn’t approve of women trying to have everything.

She dropped out of college shortly after meeting her husband Conner, 22, and now dedicates her time to serving her husband.

She insists she doesn’t want to go to work all day and come home to cook and clean like her own mother used to do.

“I definitely didn’t grow up in a traditional environment. My parents divorced when I was young and my mother struggled with her children to make ends meet,” she said.

“I knew very well that I didn’t want this for myself. I didn’t want to be the woman who went to work all day and then had to come home to cook and clean.

“I dreamed of staying at home and having a partner who appreciates my role as a housewife. I just wanted a simple and traditional life.”

She and Conner met in 2020 and discussed their shared traditional values ​​on their first date.

“We realized that we have the same views and values. I never thought I would meet a guy like that,” she said.

“At the time I was a college student studying meteorology, but shortly after we met I left college and dropped all means to pursue a career.

“I never intend to have a career because I will stay at home to take care of our home, my husband and hopefully our future family.”

She Conner, 22, tied the knot earlier this month and is staying home, cooking and cleaning while Connor works full-time as an electrician

Estee makes sure he doesn’t have to lift a finger when he’s home.

“I make Conner’s lunch for him the night before he goes to work, lay out his clothes for him to keep organized, and make sure the house is clean and smells nice when he gets home.

“I meet all his needs to make his life easier.

Estee starts her day with a coffee before getting ready.

She doesn’t like sitting around in her pajamas and makes sure she looks her makeup on every day.

Estee said: “I do my hair and makeup and usually wear a house dress. I want to make sure I always look good.

“I cook all of our meals from scratch, so I typically spend up to five hours a day in the kitchen and two hours a day cleaning the whole house.

“I do our grocery shopping and run any errands that need to be run.

“I also have time to invest in hobbies and new skills, so I’m just learning how to garden and I’m about to start figure skating as well.

“I love using candles and incense to make our homes smell nice.

“I make it a really homey environment and make sure everything is done for Conner to come home so we can then spend time together.

“Conner doesn’t have to lift a finger around the house because he works hard to take care of us,” she added.

“I love the simple distribution of roles. There is no confusion or argument about whose turn it is to do something.”

While Estee and Conner are enjoying life as newlyweds, they hope to start a family within the next two to three years.

Estee’s role as tradwife would then include looking after their babies.

She said: “I would also make sure our babies’ needs are met and I would love to homeschool them too.

“I am a strong believer in homeschooling and know what my child is consuming academically.

“I love conveying a healthy image of being a housewife and a tradwife. It’s not boring, it fills me up.

“I believe that women are happiest when they are at home taking care of the household and their families.

“I’m often called lazy by trolls on social media, but I tend to just ignore it.

“I even get comments about domestic violence because people think that if you are financially dependent on someone because you don’t have the means to support yourself, they can abuse you.

“But that’s just not the case,” she insisted.

“I love the way we live our lives. It’s everything I ever dreamed of.”
