In a recent TikTok video, Sarah Racul showed the platform a box full of clothes to take with her on upcoming trips.

Racul told viewers that she shipped the entire box of clothing items to Disney for just $28, making it more affordable than the $62 Spirit Airlines offered her for a checked bag.

“Look at everything I could put in that box and it only cost me another $28 to ship it back. Best money I’ve ever spent,” she said.

Comments ranged from awe at the clever tactic to holes in an advantage that seemed too good to be true.

One user wrote: “No, because imagine not getting your stuff on time.”

Another user agreed with the same sentiment at baggage control: “I’ve lost way too many packages to make this lmao.”

There was an alternative solution offered by one person who said “I always send my dirty clothes home, souvenirs in my carry-on”.

Shipping your luggage can actually be a kind of convenience, but it depends on where and when you are going to travel.

Heavier items may be more convenient to post, but may cost you more.

Shipping baggage means you don’t have to pay as much attention to airline checked baggage weight restrictions.

Airlines also limit the number of bags you can take with you, while the Post Office will ship as many packages as you bring – for a fee.

Sending necessities in the mail also means your journey through the airport is much more relaxed.
