As for the plants that need moisture, they can really struggle during the colder months as the air is drier.

But fear not, the experts at plant care brand Baby Bio® have shared their tips on how to help plants get through this winter.

One of her most surprising tips was that you shouldn’t use water straight from the cold tap.

The experts said: “Don’t use water straight from the cold tap as it can get too cold in the winter months and shock the root system.

“Use lukewarm water instead, letting it come to room temperature before watering your plants.

“Although most plants aren’t actively growing during the winter, we recommend using a houseplant fertilizer like Baby Bio® houseplant food once a month to ensure they’re still getting all the nutrients they need to get through the season.”

They also suggested moving your plants away from radiators or in the line of drafts from windows.

Houseplants generally don’t like it too warm or too cold.
