She said a “frustrating” plant is a feature of many gardens, but it can be difficult to keep in check.

The gardening expert explained, “Mint spreads so quickly and easily.”

“It can be so frustrating to keep under control.”

Mint is a popular herb for green-fingered Britons, especially keen cooks.

However, some mint species are considered invasive and most have a root structure that quickly spreads over a very large area.

Luckily that is social media The user gave a handy tip on how to keep the spread to a minimum.

She recommended uprooting already planted mint and placing it in a deep pot or bucket.

You should then fill these with soil and place them in your grow bed, with the lip at least two inches above the surface.

This allows you to grow mint alongside your other herbs or flowers without it spreading out of control.

Then remove any final mint sprouts to ensure everything is included.

“That sucker was still trying to grow into the tomatoes and the lavender.”
