I’m a mum and I flew to Lanzarote for the day – it cost just £23 and I had the best time

A mum revealed how she and her pal flew to Lanzarote for a day for just £23 – and had the time of their lives.

Posting on TikTok, the couple, who have seven children together, decided to make the 2,500-mile journey when they discovered the cheap flights.

They then spent just nine hours on the Spanish island, sucking up the son.

In the video, she showed herself sitting on the beach enjoying a cocktail and said it was “better than a Sunday at Sainsbury’s!”

She added in the caption: “9 hours in Lanzarote. Brunch, shopping, cocktails – next stop beach!”

“A Burger King to sober up at the airport in my own bed for 12:30am!”

“Ladies, if you think you’ve got a day, take advantage of it! You absolutely can.

“We got up at 3.45am – we had the best day in Lanzarote.

“We’ve been in the sea, had three sex on the beach cocktails, been to Zara’s – what more do you need honey? Book the flight!”

Her video has been viewed more than 1 million times and people on TikTok have been torn, with some loving the idea.

One person wrote: “Why not! Life is there to be enjoyed.”

Another said: “Life goals.”

A third agreed: “I don’t need to convince the girls right away that this is THE best idea.”

Some had tried it out themselves: “I did this in October – £38 round trip to Milan! 6am flight, pasta lunch in the sun, giant Aperol spritz and pizza home for 12:30am.”

Others disagreed, saying it was a long journey for a day trip.

Someone commented: “Over eight hours flight plus airport time and transfers. Just for a few hours? Nothing for me.”

Another added: “Waste of airfare for a day.”

They’re not the only Brits trying it out.

Abbie, from Manchester, was telling her 19,000 TikTok followers about her cheap – and quick – trips abroad.

She said she gets £10 round trip to go on holiday across Europe for a day.

Calling “Torkersss” on TikTok, she captioned the video: “This is your sign to catch a cheap flight abroad for the day.

“I flew with Ryanair for £9.98 return to Ibiza.”

Another woman revealed how she managed to snag a three-day stay in a European capital for £42 per person including flights.
