I’m a professional packer – my clever hack keeps clothes wrinkle-free on holiday & doesn’t cost a penny

A PACKAGING expert has revealed a trick to keeping clothes wrinkle-free on vacation – and it won’t cost you anything.
Lydia Mansel runs the Just Packed site, which aims to make packing easier, and has a trick to avoid wrinkled shirts.

Speaking to Travel + Leisure, she said: “When you’re packing for your next adventure, put your more delicate items in the dry cleaning bags, including your cotton and linen items.
“You fold each garment as you normally would and place it in a separate bag before putting it in your suitcase or duffel bag.
“This tactic works because the pockets slide against each other, meaning your cotton T-shirts and breezy linen pants won’t snag in transit, inevitably creating deep creases and messy creases.”
If you don’t have dry cleaning bags in your closet, you can use garbage bags or similar unscented plastic bags.
Also, don’t worry about packing silk, wool, denim or cashmere garments, as they don’t usually wrinkle.
Clothes that crease frequently are things like cotton or linen.
Alternatively, separate your clothes with tissue paper, while rolling up delicate clothing can reduce wrinkles.
Make sure you unpack as soon as you arrive at your hotel as well, as leaving your clothes in your suitcase will wrinkle even more.
Lydia also suggests determining your packing needs at least a week before your trip, although two weeks is even better.
And you can save space in your bag in other ways, too, by opting for an e-reader and downsizing your shoe collection.
If you’re short on space in your suitcase, try packing your clothes in a vacuum bag to save space, or use a packing cube.
Alternatively, call your hotel to see what amenities are already in place.
