An experienced mechanic who has repaired thousands of cars has revealed why he thinks electric vehicles are “stupid”.
Scotty Kilmer – who gives tips and advice for drivers social media – says that electric cars are not suitable for long-distance travel.

In the footage, the car expert expressed his opinion on the low-emission car as he began to dispose of it.
He told his more than five million followers the reason why electric trucks were “not a good choice.”
Scotty hit out: “Electric long-haul semi-trucks are stupid.”
The Motors influencer says electric vehicles are “stupid” and “not designed to drive long distances.”
The expert explained that limited vehicles cannot use batteries for long journeys.
He said: “Long-haul trucks cannot use batteries. They are too big and too difficult to load.”
“Instead, hydrogen and fuel trucks will be good for the big 18-wheelers they already use in Germany and the rest of Europe.”
The clip is part of a series of videos released in which he urges drivers not to switch to electric vehicles as they are a “scam” and could even “pollute more than gasoline.”
The video has now gone viral, receiving thousands of views and over 5,500 likes from other car enthusiasts.
Users took to the comments section to share their views in support of the video.
One user said: “Scotty I’m sticking with gas like you said, I have my ’95 Nissan truck and my ’23 Toyota Camry I’m fine.”
Another added: “I have never believed in electric propulsion and I still believe that the best-selling solution will be some kind of hydrogen hybrid.”
“Because we can easily exchange hydrogen canisters and the range is better.”
But not everyone is convinced, as loyal electric car drivers disagreed, claiming that modern cars are “superior” to petrol engines.
