Carmen Javier shared her tips in a TikTok video online.

She said: “The best and worst things to spend your money on at H&M Home come from an interior designer.”

The interior designer said a cotton throw is her favorite home accessory.

She said: “This cotton linen blend throw is the best product H&M has ever had.”

“It’s my favorite blanket that I can buy in any store, expensive or cheap.”

Carmen added that the blanket is machine washable, so stubborn stains can be removed really easily in the wash.

But the home deco pro says wool blankets are a no-no.

She said: “I have very mixed feelings about this wool blend blanket.

“The price is okay for real wool, but this is the kind of blanket that leaks everywhere and you really can’t wash it.”

If you like linen bedding, Carmen says the prices at H&M are more than fair.

She said: “Your linen bedding is among the best in this price range – I know from experience that you can enjoy them for a good three to six years.”

“The biggest difference is how you wash your clothes – make sure you don’t wash them in super hot water, as this will cause holes in the clothes more easily.”

A product that Carmen says she would never buy from H&M and their muslin cotton.

She said: “Don’t waste your money on the muslin cotton duvet cover, it just pills very quickly.”

“Instead, I would buy a muslin bedspread and drape it over your duvet cover – that way you don’t have to sleep every day but still enjoy the textured look.”

Carmen explained that the size of your pillows could have an impact on how tacky your home looks.

She said, “Don’t waste your money on the 20″ x 20″ linen pillowcases, go for the 24″ x 24”.

“This larger size will enhance your room, while the smaller size will make it look cheap.”

Finally, Carmen says that unless you want a bathmat, you should never buy a rug from H&M.

“Don’t say goodbye to litter — that’s how big these tricks are, you basically get a bathmat.”
