TikToker Phoenix Orion Gray (@phoenixgrey) Create a videotapes of all the items you should not buy if you are managing budget.

While there are items that are “worth splurging on… there are other things we can save on,” he said.

The first item that isn’t worth spending your money on – if you live somewhere with distinct seasons – is outdoor furniture.

“When you can only use it for a few months of the year, it’s not the best investment,” Phoenix says.

He advises choosing “durable, budget-friendly options that can withstand the elements.”

“But honestly, it’s not worth spending a lot of money here,” Phoenix added.

He believes that spending a lot of money on children’s furniture is not worth it.

“They often have a limited lifespan for children because they grow up relatively quickly,” the interior designer revealed.

It’s a better option for buying furniture that’s “safe and functional without spending too much money,” he said.

You should also avoid leaving your bag on an end or side table “in less prominent areas of the house, such as bedrooms or corners.”

He says to consider their functionality before spending your budget.

“The main purpose of these is for storage,” Phoenix explains.

The last fixture on the interior designer’s list is the ceramic sink.

The creator reveals that they are “generally more durable but can be more susceptible to damage than other sink materials.”

If “sharp or heavy objects are dropped or even thrown into the sink,” he said, the ceramic surface can chip or crack.

Ultimately, Phoenix thinks it’s best to choose affordable items.

“It can really help you create a well-designed and functional home without unnecessary overspending,” he says.
