In a clip shared on TikTok ( @mrphoenixgrey) he initially urges people to avoid vertical blinds made of plastic.

“You know the ones I’m talking about…the ones from our childhood who never really came down, they’re missing a shade, they’re wobbly, they look so cheap – 10 years,” he quips.

Next, Phoenix goes on to say that covering hardwood with carpets deserves a life sentence.

“I’m giving you the chance of parole if you know you’re wrong and admit your mistakes,” he says.

“In no way has the shape of a carpet ever surpassed the aesthetics and appearance of a hardwood floor.”

Finally, the interior design expert advises homeowners to stay away from artificial plants.

“If you have faux plants, I’ll let you get away with the service because, honestly, they’re the biggest dust collector next to your HVAC unit,” he explains.

“Yes, some of them can look realistic, but they don’t give you the luxurious look of a real aesthetic plant that’s actually in your space.”

It wasn’t long before the post went viral, garnering a whopping 87,000 views and multiple comments.

“Forgive my plastic plants but my toddler eats the leaves of my real ones and throws the dirt everywhere,” one wrote.

A second article said: “I’d like real plants, but the ones I love are poisonous to pets, so I had to get artificial plants.”

A third commented: “I have the wide faux wood horizontal blinds. I’m so ready for roman blinds, so expensive!!!”

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: “Agree except for artificial plants. Real plants require too much maintenance and rarely look good after a few months.”

Another noted: “Plastic plants in my laundry room. But in my defense, there is no natural light in this room.”

And another agreed: “I love real plants but I always get mosquitoes and I’m terrified of flying bugs!”
