“Imagine that situation!” – Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Premier League would have been boring if the Reds were unable to keep up with Manchester City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged Pep Guardiola’s remarks as a winged compliment, adding that the Red Devils are making the Premier League title race interesting.
Manchester City and Liverpool are vying for the top of the Premier League table in the 2021-22 campaign. Following the Merseyside giants’ 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (May 7), City thrashed Newcastle United 5-0 on Sunday. (May 8).
Victory for Cityzens opens them up three points at the top of the table, inching closer to the league title.
In an explosive post-match interview, Guardiola claimed (via the Mirror) that “everyone in this country” supported the Red Devils, causing an uproar on social media.
Klopp is aware of his contemporaries’ controversial comments but has added some positivity to it. The Germans feel that Guardiola’s remarks only prove that Liverpool are giving the English champions a run for their money.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Klopp revealed how his side made the Premier League vibrant. He say:
“I think we can take that as a compliment – if he means it. Imagine what the situation would be if we weren’t that close? Imagine that situation! Then the interviews get boring like, ‘Whatever!’. You have to make sure there’s some excitement and there’s an interesting battle to see who stays in the league and who qualifies for the Champions League. We all feel the stress, can’t say there isn’t any.”
Manchester City can beat Liverpool in title race with a match in hand
The Red Devils and Sky Blues have faced off against each other throughout the campaign. For the most part, this is an unpredictable race, but there’s only one favorite target in the final lap.
Compared to last weekend’s results, Man City not only leads the Merseysiders team by 3 points but also in goal difference (4 goals).
The champions will face Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United and Aston Villa in their last three games, all of which have conceded multiple goals this season.
A big win over Wolves will improve City’s goal difference, and give them some air. If Liverpool win the remaining three games and Man City win two but maintain a better goal difference, the title will go to Manchester.
If The Citizens play clinically as they did against Newcastle, they could start the celebrations informally before the ball is kicked on the final day of competition.
