Iman Shumpert Arrested For Marijuana Possession!!

Former Knicks star Iman Shumpert was arrested over the weekend for allegedly carrying a “substantial” amount of marijuana in his backpack at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.

TSA officials were responding to a call about possible drug violations, according to TMZ Sports. When they checked the athlete, they found 6.12 ounces of a “green leafy substance” in his pocket. He admitted it was weed. Tests confirmed it was marijuana.

Shumpert was handcuffed without incident and held in the airport jail. If convicted, he faces two years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

He was first drafted by the New York Knicks in 2011 with the No. 17 overall pick. Shumpert’s last stint in the NBA was during the 2020-21 season. He only played 2 games for the Brooklyn Nets. He has played with the Cleveland Cavaliers where he won a title alongside LeBron James. He then played for the Sacramento Kings and the Houston Rockets. Shumpert averaged 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
