Important update on fighter jet crash in Melbourne as plane wreckage FOUND in search for missing MasterChef cameraman and pilot – The Scottish Sun

The wreckage of a fighter jet that crashed in Melbourne with two people on board has been found.

The search for Masterchef cameraman James Rose and pilot Stephen Gale continued on Tuesday, with police describing it as a “recovery mission”.

The couple were on board the jet that crashed in Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay on Sunday.

Experienced pilot Stephen Gale, owner of the aviation company Jetworks Aviation, is believed to be the second victim.

Helicopters from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Victoria Police and Coast Guard have been combing the bay since Sunday.

Police confirmed on Tuesday morning that a large part of the plane’s body had been found off the coast of Mornington

Police will search the wreckage once it is removed from the water.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the two planes to collide in mid-air about 7.4 miles west of Mornington.
