Changes announced for this year's Broad Street Run

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Organizers are making changes to the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run for this year.

It traditionally takes place on the first Sunday in May.

Only this year, the Philadelphia 10-mile race is moving a week earlier to Sunday, April 30th.

In their announcement on Monday morning, race organizers also said the pandemic restrictions are over.

You do not have to show proof of vaccination or wear a mask at the start.

The finish line also changes. This year’s race finishes at the K Lot near Lincoln Financial Field.

The lottery for one of the 40,000 limited seats opens on February 1st at 00:01

Organizers say children’s events and post-race activities will return this year, and families are welcome at the finish line.

There will be no virtual racing option for 2023.
