After two years of rapid growth, sparked by one of the world’s longest Covid-19-related school closures, India is home to an increasingly crowded field of educational technology unicorns. Six have hit the $1 billion valuation milestone since the nationwide lockdown in March 2020. They joined Byju’s, which got there in 2017 and is now the world’s most valuable edtech startup, priced at $22 billion after a funding round in March, according to PitchBook Data Inc.
