THEY literally live in the fast lane, so it’s no surprise that Formula 1 stars love to slow down, relax and unwind in absolute luxury.
During the summer break, F1 drivers like Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and George Russell have flown around the world on breathtaking journeys that put even footballers worth millions to shame.
From Sardinia to Ibiza to jetpacking and romping around – often with their glamorous partner – this is how the super-rich stars spend their holidays.
World Champion Verstappen extended his title lead at the Belgian Grand Prix and secured his eighth win in a row. Therefore, he will no doubt go into the summer break very happy.
The 25-year-old and his model girlfriend Kelly Piquet, 34, were enjoying a romantic trip to Sardinia, Italy, flying in on a private jet days after the last race.
Since then, the couple have been enjoying the beautiful countryside and coastal views, and visiting nearby towns with Kelly’s daughter Penelope, who welcomed her in 2019 alongside her ex Daniil Kvyat.
Kelly started dating Verstappen in late 2020 – a year before he won the F1 World Championship – and the pair have been a powerful couple ever since.
Pierre Gasly, 27, and his girlfriend Francisca “Kika” Gomes started dating last year, and their romance officially went public on Instagram in early 2023.
And it seems the couple are still clearly enjoying the honeymoon period.
They are currently spending some time in the Algarve, Portugal and have both posted a series of photos together in love.
Pierre has been enjoying relaxing in the hot tub, and earlier this week Francisca even posted a “cheeky snap” showing off her tan — and butts — at the beach.
During his absence, Gasly has swapped the car for a round of golf, and while he’s posted a photo of himself eating an ice cream cone, he’s not quite in “vacation mode” yet and is adamant about hitting the gym even when he’s abroad.
The most adventurous couples include Brit George Russell, 25, and his investment broker girlfriend Carmen Mundt, who have been together since 2020.
The couple are currently out and about with their families and have spent a lot of time at sea paddling, jet skiing, hoverboarding and even playing around with hydro jet backpacks.
Posting photos of their adventures, George wrote, “It’s really fun trying some new things.”
“I’ve never been very comfortable in the water, but I’ve enjoyed pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. A few little bruises later we’re gone!”
While Australian racing driver Daniel Ricciardo has won eight Grands Prix, he hit a career low last August, being dumped by McLaren and failing to secure a spot for the 2023 season.
He then made a surprise return to Formula 1 at the Hungarian Grand Prix and since the end of the season has been enjoying a much-needed trip to Ibiza alongside DJs Martin Garrix and Tiesto.
Garrix posted a photo of the trio enjoying lunch on his Instagram with the caption: “CRAZY day in Ibiza!! Thanks for partying in the rain.”
Ricciardo, 34, who is dating Heidi Berger, also owns a luxury mansion in Los Angeles and is said to be happy to spend most of the summer in LA. He told the West Australian: “The weather and the proximity to the beaches, I feel that.” like you could get away from the madness of it all.
He recently posted a cool underwater photo of himself, and while it’s not known where Lewis Hamilton is vacationing right now, it will no doubt be phenomenal.
He is no stranger to lavish travel, having already traveled to America and Mexico in his free summers and enjoyed trips to Jamaica and Costa Rica.
The 38-year-old driver is rumored to be dating singer Shakira, 46. The two reportedly have a “hot summer romance” and have become “inseparable.”
At the Belgian Grand Prix he managed to crash his car and fall down the stairs leaving Lance Stroll probably feeling ready for a rest.
The 24-year-old shared a selection of photos from his hiatus so far on Instagram with the caption “Summer dump” and showed him eating ice cream and wakesurfing.
His girlfriend Sara Pagliaroli, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2021, has so far not seen anything in his summer pictures.
He recently posted a video showing himself jumping off a yacht into the crystal blue sea. So it seems that Lando Norris is finally enjoying some well-deserved rest with his family.
But as soon as the season was over, the 23-year-old jumped into a helicopter alongside Max Verstappen to visit their mutual friend DJ Martin Garrix.
In true “work hard, play hard” style, the pair partied together at the Tomorrowland dance festival in Belgium before taking a much-needed proper break.
