Inside latest celeb craze that sees lookalike daughters pose with famous mums – can you see what they have in common?

ONCE there was the mini me – now the hot trend among celebrity moms is the twin me, doubling up with their identical daughters in matching outfits for online snaps, model shoots and red carpets.
Mel B and daughter Phoenix, 24, are the latest to ride the Twinny Me wave, modeling lingerie and swimwear for Pour Moi’s Own Your Confidence range.
They join mother-daughter acts Beyonce and Blue Ivy, Heidi Klum’s girlfriend Leni and Amanda Holden’s Lexi.
Here we take a look at the glamor duos proving they are partners.
Heidi Klum and Leni
Like her former supermodel mother, Leni has graced the covers of many magazines and has lucrative modeling deals with Dior Beauty and GHD.
The 19-year-old was born after Heidi’s relationship with Italian Formula 1 boss Flavio Briatore collapsed in 2003.
She was later adopted by Heidi’s second husband, pop star Seal, who is also the father of Leni’s three younger siblings.
She often copies her 50-year-old mother’s style on the catwalk and in photoshoots together, and recently appeared together in light-colored suits on the cover of Dutch Vogue.
But in May, her campaign for lingerie brand Intimissimi sparked backlash when someone tweeted, “Sexualizing your daughter once she becomes legal is weird.”
Leni hit back, saying she “loved” working with Heidi and that it was “an amazing day.”
Kim Kardashian and North West
KIM Kardashian sparked another storm of controversy when she posted a picture of herself and her daughter North West in matching black ensembles earlier this month.
The post, captioned “It’s North’s World, I’m just in it,” showed the nine-year-old wearing leather and gold chains, paired with smaller versions of Kim’s crop top and ultra-slim pants, and a mini version of her mother’s Chanel bag.
Some observers noted that North — the eldest of Kim’s four children with her ex-husband Kanye West — is “too young” for the look.
Still, others praised the couple, with one writing, “She’s really your mini me, both so beautiful.”
Beyonce and Blue Ivy
Since she was a baby, Blue Ivy’s megastar mom has sported matching dresses and even swimsuits as the two partnered.
Dubbed “the most famous baby alive” by Time magazine, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter graced the red carpet in similar outfits as soon as she could walk. She wore a shimmering gown that matched Beyonce’s gold dress at the 2016 MTV Awards, foil dresses at an arts gala in 2018, and identical glittery skirts at the 2019 Los Angeles premiere of The Lion King.
11-year-old Blue Ivy was invited onto the stage at her mum’s sold-out London show this week, where she danced in another Twinny look – a matching silver outfit.
Cindy Crawford and Kaia
SINCE Kaia Gerber first followed in her model mother’s footsteps and made her runway debut for Calvin Klein in 2017, like mother, like daughter.
The 21-year-old son of Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber is an absolute eye-catcher for her mother as a runway queen and has worked with numerous fashion houses including Versace, Chanel, Valentino and Marc Jacobs.
Kaia and her mum were named Model of the Year at the 2018 Fashion Awards and have enjoyed living up to that image, even posing in t-shirts that say ‘Mom Genes’.
The two often pose in similar outfits and have shared the cover of Vogue magazine in France and the Netherlands.
On her 18th birthday in 2019, Kaia recreated a Versace bondage dress that her mother infamously wore to the 1992 MTV Awards.
Mel B and Phoenix
For the former Spice Girl and her eldest, it’s two becoming one.
Phoenix, her mother’s spitting image, often pays tribute to 48-year-old Mel on her Instagram and recently recreated three of her famous looks, including the gold two-piece suit she wore for the 1997 Spice World poster.
Phoenix also wore a patchwork bikini top and pants to mirror Mel’s look on the Spice Up Your Life album cover, as well as a leopard print top and black mini skirt, echoing her mother’s outfit in the Say You’ll Be There video ‘ was filmed at the time. Mel was only 20 – four years younger than Phoenix is now.
The daughter of Mel’s first husband, Jimmy Gulzar, Phoenix was raised by the singer after the couple split in 2000 and is now a model and self-proclaimed entrepreneur.
Phoenix not only posed in lingerie and swimwear for her latest shoot, but also adopted Scary Spice’s signature leopard print and posed in cropped corset tops and black pants.
Amanda Holden and Lexi
At 17, it’s clear that Lexi Hughes inherited her mother’s good looks — and the modeling world agrees.
When she turned 16, Lexi, whose father is record producer Chris Hughes, was signed to Storm, the modeling agency who discovered Kate Moss.
Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda, couldn’t be prouder of her lookalike, saying: “She looks very natural and looks just beautiful.”

The mother-daughter duo often dress alike, sporting similar cut-out black dresses with sheer panels to a Julien Macdonald runway show and the British Fashion Awards respectively.
But while Amanda, 52, is known for her revealing outfits on the ITV talent show, she has said she confiscates anything she feels is too revealing from the teenager – and keeps it to herself!
Be a fair couple
By Clemmie Fieldsend
THEY say imitation is the highest form of flattery and a must-have look for celebrity kids.
But that wasn’t always the case.
Remember the time your mom dressed you and your siblings, or worse, the whole family, in the right clothes for a family picture?
I wince when I see the flashback.
It was considered a bit silly back then, but now it seems like every celebrity and their daughter are a dud clone.
style set
But forget the 80’s when everyone wore matching bright cable knits; or in the 90s, when coordinated nautical looks could be seen in every hallway – today twin sets are far more stylish.
They can be a double glam duo, like Amanda Holden and her daughter Lexi, who like to mix and match their cut-out dresses, or Hells Angels, like Kim Kardashian and young North West, whose twin sets are made of leather.
You could take on the extreme lengths of Heidi Klum and Leni and combine your pants.
But whatever you decide, if you want to be on the fashion scene, you’ll need to look twice.
