Inside the beautiful Wetherspoons that’s the ‘best in the country’ – and it’s right next to the beach

A WETHERSPOONS next to the beach has been described by visitors as the best in the country for its atmosphere and building.
The Spoons pubs have become something of a landmark in British cities, and many are breathing new life into historic buildings.
However, the Picture House in Colwyn Bay, Wales has been voted one of the best houses by its customers.
The pub is housed in the former Princess Cinema which was built in 1914 and was originally called the Princess Picture House.
Many of the original Art Deco design elements are still visible inside the pub today.
These include stained glass windows and lighting fixtures, as well as artwork on the walls.
They make the inside of the pub the perfect spot for a pint, according to many visitors.
Of the many five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, many praised the atmosphere, with some saying it was the best that Spoons had to offer.
One wrote: “First let me say I’ve visited a lot of Wetherspoons.
“This has jumped to #1 for many reasons.
“It doesn’t look particularly pretty from the outside, but once you step inside it’s warm, cozy and a wonderful place to sit.”
Another wrote: “Having visited 238 pubs/hotels in Wetherspoon my ‘Top 5’ list is constantly updated.”
“Many factors influence an individual’s choice, but in my view the building itself is the deciding factor.”
“My ‘Top 5’ list is as follows: THE PICTURE HOUSE, Colwyn Bay; THE COUNTING HOUSE, Canary Wharf; THE VELVET COASTER, Blackpool; MAN IN THE MOON, Newport, Isle of Wight; THE WINTER GARDENS, Harrogate.”

A third added: “We visit every single Wetherspoon in all the cities we visit. The Picture House in Colwyn Bay did not disappoint – in fact one of the best!’
The location of the pub is also a big draw as it is right on the beach.
The Colwyn coast has been described by as ‘ideal for swimming, water sports and fishing, as well as cycling and walking along the coast line’. Visit Conwy.
The sprawling sandy crescent was once a popular holiday destination for Brits heading to the sea and is enjoying renewed popularity.
As part of the Colwyn Bay Waterfront project, large quantities of fresh sand have been imported and the promenade has been ‘refreshed and revitalized’ to make it holiday-worthy again.
Visit Conwy added: “We know that Colwyn Bay had its heyday as a family seaside resort some time ago.”
“But it’s changing as we speak – and today’s visitors like what they hear and find.”
As well as the Wetherspoons and the beach, visitors to the town can also visit the craft market and Welsh Mountain Zoo.
A night in Colwyn Bay costs around £47 for two people.

These are now some more of the finest Wetherspoon pubs in the world.
