This Royal Caribbean cruise ship made its debut in 2018 and has taken passengers around the western Mediterranean, Florida and the Caribbean.

Divided into seven sections, the ship spans 1,188 feet in length and 215.5 feet in width.

It’s so big and packed with attractions that the ship’s captain, Captain Rick, told the Channel 4 documentary Billion Pound Cruise, which airs at 11.05pm tonight: “The ship itself has become an attraction.”

The Boardwalk area features a family sports bar, Playmakers, with 30 big-screen TVs and a variety of arcade games, and the new Sugar Beach candy and ice cream shop, where kids can decorate their own cakes.

In addition to a plethora of pools and two surf lagoons, the cruise ship is also home to the Ultimate Abyss waterslide — the tallest slide at sea, plummeting 10 decks.

A total of 1,200 stainless steel triangles and 200 LED lights form a 20-foot-tall structure called the Paradox Void, while 12,000 tropical plants and trees enhance the al fresco dining ambience in the Central Park neighborhood.

There are also 20 restaurants on board, and while many are included in the price of the cruise, there are also restaurants that cost “extra.”

For example, Hooked – is a New England-style seafood restaurant with a raw bar featuring fresh fish picked up every time the ship docks in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

Robot bartenders mix cocktails in the Bionic Bar, while imaginative drinks are served by creative chefs in the Wonderland Bar.

Food and drink director Emmanuel told the Channel 4 TV show: We use 340 tonnes of fresh produce a week.

“We use 35,000 canned beer bottles in seven days.”

A split-level Ultimate Family Suite features two bedrooms and sleeps eight people.

In the suite, a crazy slide takes kids from their bedroom to the lounge, where there’s a floor-to-ceiling LEGO wall.

A dining table converts into either a pool table or an ice hockey table, while a 3D TV sits in a corner next to a popcorn machine.

There’s even a hot tub on the wraparound balcony for the whole family to relax in.

There’s plenty of entertainment on board including a performance of the musical Hairspray, a live orchestra, ice skating shows and aquatic theater including Hiro performing high-flying stunts.

The ship carries 6,680 passengers and 2,200 crew spread over 18 decks.

This year, Symphony of the Seas will sail the Western Mediterranean and Southern Caribbean.

Last year, Royal Caribbean unveiled the world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, which can carry 7,600 passengers and costs more than £2 billion.
