Investigation of Southcenter Mall garage shooting continues

Friends say that Chris Wesolowicz brought a bright and energetic smile to every room he entered. Tukwila police said his case is still under active investigation.

TUKWILA, Wash. – Tukwila Police said they are continuing to investigate a shooting at the Southcenter Mall garage on November 18.

Friends of Chris and Mary Wesolowicz say they returned to their car after shopping and discovered a car theft was being attempted. They say the suspects shot both Chris and Mary, took her to the hospital and took Chris’ life – a loss that will still reverberate in the community.

Trevor Taylor, a friend, said: ‘He brings a bright smile and an abundance of energy to every room he lives in and he always has a big hug ready. “People love being around Chris just because of the energy he brings and always radiates.”

Taylor said he has known Chris for many years, spending time together enjoying the Renaissance Fair, board games, sailing and RPGs. They have formed a deep bond with a community that is now entering the holiday season with a hole in their hearts.

“The world has lost so much without Chris and not – those of us who met him and had the opportunity to experience life with him, we will always carry that in our hearts – but it was everyone who didn’t get Taylor said, “They really missed out on meeting a great person.”

Friends are holding a fundraiser to cover expenses accumulated since his death. They also hope that anyone who may have a tip in this case will put in that information to provide some answers and a form of closure — although healing is a much more complicated process. .

“There’s no quick fix for any of these problems – it’s unbelievable to have to go through this,” Taylor said.

Taylor said they also want people to know that Chris’ lasting legacy will be love – and hope people learn from his memory.

“He always knew how to say ‘I love you’ to his friends and family, and he chose to build his family, obviously his biological family, but we are all family. family,” Taylor said. “For me, Chris is very family. And I think the most memorable thing is don’t let those things go unspoken to your loved ones. Always remember to say I love you.”
