IPL 2022: “The big question that we have all failed to answer”
Former India opener Aakash Chopra was baffled by the way Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) handled the batting position of all-star Marcus Stoinis. The 44-year-old thinks LSG has not been able to determine their entry point well and that if they find a solution, they could be even more dangerous in the face of their opposition.
Aakash Chopra also feels West Indies almighty Jason Holder is beating too low as the likes of Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni are promoted ahead of him. Holder is capable of playing big shots and Chopra believes that LSG should look into this problem and find a solution.
Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, here’s what Aakash Chopra had to say while previewing the clash between LSG and the Gujarat Titans (GT):
“The big question that we all can’t answer is what’s the right place for Marcus Stoinis in the batting order. With hitting the ball so deep, sometimes Holders don’t hit as much and that’s what they need. must think.”
Aakash Chopra also feels Krunal Pandya won’t win much against GT because of the lefties in their lineup. He added:
“With three lefties in Miller, Tewatia and Sai Sudharsan, Krunal might not get too much and you can see [Ravi] Bishnoi bowling in that period. “
Deepak Hooda will face fast pitchers: Aakash Chopra
Manish Pandey couldn’t fulfill his role as number 3 in the LSG roster and was dropped from the team. But Chopra was impressed with how Deepak Hooda has performed in that role for his team.
While LSG’s new No. 3 is well-versed in anti-spin, the 44-year-old thinks GT speed drivers could pose some conundrums for both Hooda and Krunal Pandya. He stated:
“Lucknow is in really good form and is winning without Rahul even in the face of the ball. De Kock is a top smasher and will continue to do well. But Deepak Hooda has done well. his job is in 3rd place. He plays spin very well, but he will be tested against faster archers Krunal Pandya will also have some responsibility as he has done very well till now. “
