But he highlighted two key criteria that Brits MUST also meet if they want to buy an electric vehicle.

He pointed out that he was lucky to have off-street parking and a built-in charger at home and said he wouldn’t be able to get anywhere without them.

On his YouTube channel Petrol Ped, the driver explained: “Living with an electric vehicle without the ability to charge it at home would be an absolute nightmare in my opinion.”

“You don’t have the incredible luxury of waking up in the morning and the car has juice.”

“You wake up and think, ‘I have to spend an hour at a public charging station to get enough range in the car for my week-long commute’. You have to plan for that.”

“If you then go to a public charging station, you pay significantly more per kilowatt than at home.”

He said off-street parking was key to ensuring you get the most out of your electric vehicle, as a built-in charger at home could save you time and money.

It comes after an electric car driver said she couldn’t go anywhere for hours thanks to her own electric motor.

And an electric vehicle owner was left fuming after what was supposed to be a routine commute turned into a crazy 13-hour ordeal.
