I’ve flown thousands of miles – the travel gadget I swear by when checking in luggage to avoid being stung by fees

A TRAVEL expert who has flown thousands of miles has revealed the luggage device he swears by to avoid getting hit with fees.
Ben Rice, who has flown most time zones in the world, said that the device allows you to have a stress-free trip and avoid spending a few extra pounds on your overweight luggage.
Nothing exacerbates a sad trip more than an overweight suitcase at check-in.
The embarrassment under the counter can become a nightmare for passengers.
Pack any extra outfits you swear you’ll wear during your trip in your carry-on luggage—while everyone else is waiting in line for you to finish.
To avoid the overwhelming stress, the packing expert recommends using a hanging digital luggage scale.
“There are ways around this, but nothing beats a hanging digital luggage scale,” Ben wrote WealthofGeeks.com
“These are cheap and easy to use, but most importantly, they will never spread again.”
The travel expert also recommended the best time to fly to avoid sky-high nightmares.
“Of course, the airline you use is a dealbreaker,” Ben said.
“My tip: Don’t fly at night when people are more likely to drink before the flight, or early in the morning when they are irritable.”
“But it’s a jungle out there – be safe!”
A three-layer packing system also allows passengers to save money on their carry-on luggage.
Airlines increase their revenue by charging customers additional fees for larger luggage. This means passengers need to be smart when packing.
Pack suitcases in layers to allow for as much luggage space as possible and to reduce the likelihood of clothes creasing.
Arranging items in layers can also distribute the weight of the suitcase evenly and prevent it from tipping over, protecting delicate items such as necklaces, earrings and other accessories.
A 16-pound duffel bag from Amazon can help you pack everything you need when it comes to budget airlines’ increasingly strict carry-on baggage regulations.
The bag in question is the Kono 35x20x20 Holdall Cabin Luggage, which is currently on sale for £15.99 on Amazon.
It is said to be accepted by several airlines including EasyJet and Ryanair.

The carry-on bag has a capacity of up to 20 liters and features adjustable straps, an attachment sleeve on the back of the bag to slide over a trolley handle and multiple compartments.
The bag has become a viral TikTok sensation because its Mary Poppins ability means it can carry a week’s worth of clothes and still fit under the front plane seat – thus avoiding the Ryanair fee of £6 to £30 for large bags stored in the luggage compartment is not necessary.
