It took Ariana and her husband Eric, 57, just four weeks to transform the 35ft van into a Barbie dream – costing just £1,600.

Dancer Ariana and her husband, who is a set designer, travel across the United States part-time.

And now they live full-time in their truly remodeled RV – a replica of the 1993 toy special edition, Barbie’s Starlight RV.

The fully equipped realistic version includes a baby pink satin draped sofa, unicorn bunting and plush bubblegum rug.

She explained: “My husband Eric always grew up around camper vans and he knew the only way to convince me to live in one was to make it pink and glam.

“As a ballerina, I just love the pink aesthetic; I didn’t want a brown and boring one.

“While inspired by Barbie, it was never intended to be a Barbie replica camper, it was simply adapted to match it.

“It was just a pink RV and a cute ballerina house, but one day while we were parked, a four-year-old girl knocked on the door and asked me if that was the real Barbie RV.”

“From there, it became the Barbie camper van.”

Now Ariana and Eric are hitting the road in their RV and staying at RV parks across the states.

But Ariana admits that life in her Barbie palace isn’t always as glamorous as it seems.

She revealed: “We spend up to £300 a month on petrol, which can be quite expensive, especially at current prices.”

“The full refurbishment cost us around £1,600 as a lot of our furniture is from Amazon – we started this during the pandemic.”

But in the end, Ariana, Eric and Cat Gelsey live in the Barbie dream world.
